An orangery in Didcot. Part 2: raise high the roof beam, carpenters
These photos show how the build project progressed toward the completed orangery. We will visit the house again in a couple of weeks once our customer has finished decorating, and will then add the final pics of this splendid home extension.
Stuart fixes the roof beams in place. Watch your balance there!
A timber sub-structure supports the internal pelmet.
The completed Lusso roof, with its highline gutter.
Now that the extension is glazed and watertight, the old external doors are removed. The walls have been plaster-boarded and this photo shows Anthony’s newly applied plaster.
Next, the liquid floor screed is applied, using levelling tripods to achieve the smooth finish.
The electrical installation is complete.
The plaster will soon be dry. All that is left to do is to lay the floor, to add the skirting boards, and to decorate.
